be part of.

Ingå means 'to be part of'.

Our aim is to build a thriving group of like-minded, autonomously-run food ingredients companies. We’re only interested in supporting sustainable growth; in empowering businesses to achieve their full potential. That’s what we want to be part of.

Why Ingå?

We’re not private equity investors, we’re specialist, long-term investors.

We’re in for the long-term, not the quick profit.

Our investments are ongoing commitments to realise ideas, inspiration and bold ambition.

We believe a good sale is about more than just price.

We engage beyond that scribbled figure slid across the table.

Of course the price is important, but so is understanding how we plan to develop your business, and how it’ll retain its autonomy, even within Ingå.

We know the feeling.

We know it’s business, but we know it’s personal too. We respect and understand the emotions of selling.

Our directors have personally been through the Ingå acquisition process - they’ve sat at both sides of the table.

We buy into your vision.

Rather than the other way around.

We only acquire businesses we believe in - where we feel we can help realise potential, where we can nourish great ideas and people.

We offer stability, not control.

All the businesses in our portfolio are autonomously run.

We’re there as a sounding board, guidance and support, but we’re not there to take control.

For us, it’s simply about getting behind a business and enabling it to keep growing.

Our Companies

Each of our companies is a specialist in food ingredients; each pursuing its own long-term strategic growth with independence and autonomy.

To be part of.
The Ingå Brand Story.

We started with a question: could a food ingredients ‘group’ exist to empower the businesses it owned, rather than absorb or flatten them, or push them into short-term profit at the expense of longer-term performance?

The Ingå CEO and the founder of Ulrick+Short, Adrian Short, thought there could be. With the support of Novax, the investment arm of the Axel Johnson Family Group, he set up Ingå as an antidote to the private-equity approach.

Ingå enables each and every business in its portfolio to pursue its own customers in its own way, with a unifying belief that the best ingredients businesses are technical, craft-led, and stay close to the kitchen or the factory floor. The vision is long-term success built on that premise of smart business, autonomy of thought and thoughtful collaboration. Like we said, it’s all about being part of.
